Japan Tsunami Project

The criteria for the assessment is listed below


Create a display on A3 paper about the Japan Tsunami of 2011.

Use information that can be found around the room and from the front desk to help you complete the display.

4 points = Images/diagrams of a good quality (at least 2, relevant to the work)

4 points = Explain the causes of the tsunami (must use keywords)

6 points = Explain the effects of the tsunami (must use keywords and identify several different effects)

4 points = Explain the knock on effects (how Japan has responded to the Tsunami)

1 point = clear title and name on display

1 point = display being clear and having the wow factor

(EXTENSION) For level 6-7s = You need explain what the future is for Japan and do a mini evaluation of your display

MEDC vs LEDC Earthquake Project

Using the information below create a mini report using powerpoint/word or publisher answering the following question.

Question:
Explain how the impacts of earthquakes are different between an MEDC (More Economically Developed Country) and an LEDC (Less Economically Developed Country)

Mark Scheme:

4 marks for giving information about the countries (population, GDP, death rate, birth rate) and the earthquakes locations and size

8 marks for explaining how the impacts were different between the two earthquakes including information about how the earthquakes affected the economy, people and the environment

5 marks for explaining what can be done to reduce the impact of earthquakes

3 marks for presentation including images of the impacts and ways of reducing the impacts

Total: 20 marks
